About the Dead Sea

The Dead Sea forms part of the Israeli-Jordanian border. 50 miles long and 11 miles wide, the surface is 1,370 ft below sea level making it the lowest water surface on earth. Salt is extracted and used in a wide variety of Dead Sea salt bath products, and for good reason as it is world renown for its amazing therapeutic effects.  Dating back to the time of Romans and ancient Egyptians, people would walk for hundreds of miles to soak in the Dead Sea, reaping the benefits contained within.

Dead Sea mineral bath salts are unique to any other salts, containing over 25 minerals, several of which are not found in any other sea or ocean. As the most saline body of water in the world, it has greater concentrations of minerals than any ocean. With particularly high proportions of Potassium, Magnesium, and Bromide. With ten times the salt content than other sea water, this allows anyone to easily float on the surface due to greater density.

Benefits of Dead Sea Mineral Bath Salt

While soaking in a tub mixed with salts from the Dead Sea, the minerals infuse with the skin and become absorbed. Slowly stimulating the blood and lymphatic circulation, resulting in increased circulation. This helps to free trapped fluid from joints, improving movement and reducing stiffness and pain. Dead Sea salt bath products have been used therapeutically by psoriasis sufferers, as well as those with acne and eczema for many years as a natural treatment to relieve symptoms. Asthma patients have also been known to report good results from inhaling the salt vapors.

With consistent and regular Dead Sea salt baths, you will enjoy accumulative results such as improved skin hydration, reduced inflammation, skin tissue rejuvenation, deeper cleansing provides relief from allergic reactions, revitalization of the skin by the drawing out of toxins and exfoliation. More benefits include regeneration of new skin cells, natural cleansing and disinfectant, and the therapeutic soothing and relaxing effects leaving skin clean and refreshed. Dead Sea salt softens even the hardest of water, allowing your skin to feel silky smooth, soft and supple to the touch. Anti-aging properties work synergistically with elastin and collagen to maintain skin tone, a study showing 40% reduction in the depth of wrinkling.

Psoriasis Results

Although it has long been known that soaking and bathing in the Dead Sea brings wonderful benefits, it was not known if buying and using Dead Sea bath salts outside of the middle east would yield the same results. In 1989 an Israeli dermatologist conducted a study on the effect Dead Sea salts would have on 50 psoriasis patients. The result of the study showed 47 out of the 50 patients received tremendous relief after having soaked in a bathtub containing the Dead Sea salts. The best results were experienced by those who soaked in 2 lbds spread out over a series of 3 three baths, for a period of six weeks. Now we know that the same beneficial effects of the Dead Sea can be enjoyed by all anywhere, especially in the privacy of their own bathtub!

How to use Dead Sea Bath Salts

When you buy dead sea bath salt, it is important to acquire authentic Dead Sea mineral bath salt, because many of the minerals are unique to the Dead Sea. However, it is fine to blend with other types of salts that contain fragrances or colors. Or you can simply use without any additives. Begin by running a bath with warm, but not hot water. As the tub begins to fill, add the Dead Sea salt, letting it dissolve as the tub finishes filling. Now would be a good time to set the mood for relaxation by lighting some candles and adding some soothing music. When the tub has filled, enter the bath and let the salts do their magic, helping to rejuvenate your skin into more vibrant, healthy and beautiful skin - one relaxing bath at a time!
